BROCHURE MINI STAY ZAGREB – PULA 2025
ITINERARY
Day 1-2: Zagreb – Where Legends Are Born
Our adventure begins in the vibrant capital of Zagreb. Here, cobbled streets wind through the Upper Town, where medieval churches, towers, and hidden courtyards create a living museum under the open sky. As we follow narrow alleys, stories of noble families, secret love affairs, and mysterious legends reveal themselves. The famous St. Mark’s Church, with its colorful tiled roof, stands guard over the city’s past. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, the quirky Museum of Broken Relationships reminds you that every love story leaves a trace.
Day 3: Rijeka & Opatija – Of Fortresses and Seaside Dreams
We head to the coast, where Rijeka’s Trsat Fortress rises above the city, offering panoramic views and ancient tales of seafarers, traders, and crusaders. Not far away lies Opatija, Croatia’s oldest seaside resort. Its elegant promenade, lined with grand villas and blooming gardens, has welcomed emperors and artists for centuries. Walking along the water’s edge, it feels like time slows down, and you’re part of a timeless European seaside escape.
Day 4: Hum, Pula & Brijuni – Tiny Towns and Mighty Arenas
Our next stop is Hum, officially the world’s smallest town. Despite its size, it guards the secrets of ancient Glagolitic script, one of Europe’s oldest alphabets, etched into stone by monks and poets. From there, we continue to Pula, where one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters still stands. Once, gladiators clashed here while thousands cheered. Nearby, the Brijuni Islands await — a unique blend of Roman villas, wild peacocks, and safari animals brought by former Yugoslav leader Tito. It’s a place where history, politics, and nature meet in the most unexpected way.
Day 5: Vodnjan, Rovinj & Višnjan – Tastes and Stars
In Vodnjan, tradition lives in every olive grove. We’ll learn about olive oil making from passionate locals and taste award-winning oils said to be among the world’s best. Then it’s on to Rovinj, a romantic town of narrow Venetian streets, colorful houses, and fishermen’s boats. As the sun sets, we journey inland to Višnjan Observatory, one of Europe’s most successful small observatories. There, under a canopy of stars, astronomers track asteroids and share cosmic stories.
Day 6: Poreč & Umag – Mosaics and Tennis Legends
In Poreč, the Euphrasian Basilica hides shimmering Byzantine mosaics dating back to the 6th century. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of early Christian art. Moving north, we visit Umag, known for its Roman origins and modern fame as a tennis hotspot, hosting international stars on its courts by the sea.
Day 7: Motovun, Pazin & Beram – Castles, Caves and Painted Secrets
High above the valley stands Motovun, a medieval hilltop town surrounded by ancient walls and lush forests, famous for its international film festival and truffle-rich woods. In Pazin, a dramatic fortress watches over a deep, mysterious cave that once inspired Jules Verne’s adventure novels. Our final stop is the tiny village of Beram, where a modest church hides 15th-century frescoes depicting the Dance of Death — a haunting, beautiful reminder of the Middle Ages.
